Our story

"Every frame is a decision. Every lens, a point of view."

Targa was born from an obsession with precision — the belief that eyewear should be as considered as the gaze it frames. For over a decade, we have crafted optical objects that exist at the intersection of Italian artisanship and uncompromising contemporary design.

The Birth of a
Vision

In the heart of Milan's fashion district, three designers and an optical engineer gathered around a single shared conviction: that luxury eyewear had lost its soul to branding. Targa was founded as a deliberate counter-argument — a house where every silhouette began with a hand-drawn sketch, every hinge was specced by hand, and every acetate block was chosen for its depth of colour, not its commercial appeal.

The name itself was chosen with intention. Targa — Italian for "plate" or "badge" — speaks to the idea that what you put before your eyes is a declaration. From day one, that declaration was made in Milan.

Paris &
Expansion

Seven years after its founding, Targa opened its first maison outside Italy — an intimate flagship on Paris's Rue Saint-Honoré. The choice was not incidental: the address placed Targa in direct conversation with the world's most exacting audience for craft and taste.

The Paris boutique was designed by architect Adrien Méral as a cabinet of curiosity, where each frame was displayed as an object of study. Within six months of opening, Targa had attracted the attention of the international press and a discerning clientele who understood that the house was building something rare — a genuine point of view, not a seasonal collection.

Looking
Forward

Sixteen years in, Targa remains what it has always been: a house that refuses to separate beauty from function. The 2026 collection, Targa Summer, marks our most technically ambitious work to date — frames engineered with adaptive lenses that respond to light, set within handcrafted bio-acetate profiles that represent our ongoing commitment to responsible luxury.

We are not interested in volume. We are interested in longevity — pieces that age with character, that become more personal with each year of wear. That is the Targa promise, and it is the same promise we made in Milan in 2010.
